My submission for Monochrome Monday this week is a picture of the City Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is currently the tallest all stone (masonic) building in the world and it is definitely a beautiful structure. I was able to take this picture a couple weeks ago when my family, Ashley, and I went to Philly for a few hours. Ashley and I were able to walk around for an hour and a half and take pictures. I really like the way the lighting worked out in this one and how well the contrast looks in monochrome as well. The original picture is included in the gallery at the end of the post.
Uncharacteristically, I drafted this post last minute so I won’t elaborate too much on my two favorites from last week’s Monochrome Madness.
I like these two pictures especially because it just seems natural and right to have them in monochrome. Also, I love trains so the picture of the steam engine submitted by Six Pixx was a natural selection and the staircase picture submitted by Snow’s Fissures and Fractures just looks great. It’s definitely a beautiful place and I want to know more about where it was taken.
And here are my personal runner-ups as well as the pre-processed and post-processed submission for this week.
