Trying to get back in the swing of things and back into the routine of posting weekly. It is fall here in Lynchburg, Virginia, and as of this post, it is past peak when it comes to the changing color of the landscape.
This week’s iPhone Photo of the Week is taken at my school. Liberty University’s campus is split by a four-lane divided highway. This picture was taken from the eastern portion of campus looking towards the main academic building, Demoss Hall. I used the HDR setting on my iPhone to make sure that I was able to get enough exposure on the campus while keeping the beauty of the fall sky and the color of the leaves in the foreground.
It’s been a busy week and I have not been blogging as much as I would like, but I have enough time to do a quick iPhone Photo of the Week post. This picture comes from a bike ride I took with my parents last week around Pittsburgh. A wedding ceremony had just then taken place and you can see the bride in the bottom of the picture. I chose this as the photo of the week because of the church and I tried to use the HDR setting on my phone as well.
I took very few pictures with my phone this past week, but today as a storm rolled through I took a panorama of the sky from the back deck and decided it would have to do. I hope you enjoy the way the sky looks as storm clouds come through and I’d love to see your pictures of storms as well. Comment a link to a picture below and I’ll check it out!
Last week’s photo of the week was a sunrise and this week’s is a sunset picture. This was taken the last night we were in Ocean City on the bayside of the island. I didn’t take many pictures with my phone in the last week so this one won the best picture I took with my phone over the week.
Right now I am thrilled to be in Ocean City, New Jersey and even though the weather is a little cool this week, I’m enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean and boardwalk here.
Yesterday, my mom and I woke up early (5:30am) to see the sunrise over the ocean and I actually decided to use my iPhone more than my camera for the shots. I used the HDR feature of my the phone’s camera and I walked out on the beach and got this great shot of the sun rising with the fences zig-zagging on the dunes. It was a beautiful sight. I usually prefer to leave sunrises and sunsets untouched, but I decided to try out the filters and liked the way it came out.
It has been a while since I’ve posted and that is because of finals week at college. Needless to say, I’ve successfully concluded my sophomore year of college and am happy to be back home in Pittsburgh. On Saturday, my family is going to Ocean City, New Jersey and I am very excited to get some pictures at the beach and of the sun rising over the ocean.
Now to business, this week’s iPhone photo of the week comes from last Wednesday. That day (April 30th) at my school is called Reading Day and gives us a day between classes and finals to either take a break or actually study for our finals. It was foggy that day and while I was walking over to my friend’s dorm I decided to take a picture of it because I liked the way the fog covered the mountain behind it. This definitely isn’t one of my best photos of the week, but for this week, I thought it was pretty good.
This past week has been a little crazy for me. Today is the last day of class and I worked a game for the last time this semester on Sunday. Friday (4/25) greeted us with rain, but the rain subsided in time for the 7pm baseball game. Because of the clouds, I knew there would be a good opportunity for a picture during the game so I patiently waited by the patio at the stadium waiting for the opportunity to arrive.
